About Me

My photo
I was born in Michigan and raised in The San Fernando Valley in California where I currently reside. I guess I'm what they call a "Valley Girl". I have experienced many things over the last thirty something years of my life...many have been heartbreaking. However, there have been many joys, three include, giving my life to Jesus, getting married and giving birth to my daughter Kemaya. Thank you God for such a precious gift!

Time to "Make Time"

Having our first baby has been a tremendous blessing in me and husband's life. But parenthood is work....especially if you are full time working parents. Our days are busy from beginning to end. By the time I get home and do my wife and motherly duties, I am beat! Sometimes I feel like there aren't enough hours in a day. I'm constantly whispering prayers...."Lord give me strength." ..."Lord help me to prioritize and manage my time effectively."

Prioir to having a baby, I used to spend lots of quiet time praying and meditating on The Word....I even kept a journal. Since the birth of my daughter 9 months ago, the only jounaling I've done, is writing a "To Do" and "Grocery List". I miss that time I used to spend with God and my desire is to begin to "Make Time".

After reading the Daily Devotional from Streaming Faith this morning I was sure that God was telling me that I need to spend more time with him. Here is the part of the devotional that ministered to me.

" The devil will do everything he can to keep you from spending time with God and discovering His sufficiency. He will put people in your way and keep you so busy and tired, that instead of things getting better, they get worse. I want to challenge you. Set aside some time in the morning, evening, (or if things are so hectic) on your lunch break or when you are lying in bed and get into God's presence undistracted. Take a deep breadth and focus on God's promises. In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus promised, "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, .... 'For My yoke is easy and My burden is light'."
